Don't Judge a Book by its Cover!

What if every human was a book? Would you judge them by their cover, or would you pick them up to learn more? In the Human Library, take the chance to borrow and learn about people instead of books.

The Human Library is an international equalities movement that creates a positive environment for open conversations, which can challenge stereotypes and prejudices within society. Similar to a real library, a visitor to the Human Library can choose from a range of titles. The difference is that the books are people, and reading is a conversation. The overall aim is to promote more understanding, break down barriers and enable people to be heard. Through dialogue, we can learn from each other and understand how to work with different communities.

The aim of the event is to create a welcoming environment, where real people are on loan to readers instead of books. Each reader can "talk" to as many books as they want. Readers are more than welcome to ask them any questions and share their thoughts and stories too. Just bring yourself with an open mind!

Supported by Hearing Voices, Sleaford and Cathy McNulty.
