Upbeat Mental Health Awareness Event

To hold an awareness event which focuses on self-help skills and techniques for individuals with all kinds of mental health difficulties.
In 2016, 98,328 people aged 16+ reported common mental health problems like depression or anxiety to their GP in Lincolnshire alone. Many others don't tell anyone.

On Monday 30th October, we will be at Lincoln's Drill Hall with a variety of speakers, local support groups and services.

By holding this event, we hope to open the dialogue about mental health. We believe that by talking about our own experiences we can help others to feel less alone, and to understand their own difficulties a bit better. Coping skills, and self-care are a huge part of living with a mental health difficulty and we want to focus on offering self-help skills.

Guest speaker Felicia Johnson, author of the book 'Her' and new series 'OK Danny Boy' is giving our keynote speech about her books and her personal experience.

Several local support groups and local services will be available to offer information and insight into the work they do locally and how you might be able to benefit from their services.

We will be holding several workshops which will offer the chance to learn new self-help skills, through methods like distraction techniques, yoga and breathing techniques.

As well as all this, Stepping Stones Theatre will be performing toward the end of the day.

This is a really important moment for us, as it marks the beginning of our attempts to fund raise specifically for the event on October 30th.

I am including the methods that you might be able to support us, and hope that together we can achieve our end goal and make an impact on the lives of people who need support in Lincolnshire.
