Save and Warm project

bespoke events for young people and families in East and West Lindsey

Our Save and Warm  project, funded by The Scottish Power Energy People Trust, is delivering an extensive programme of outreach to vulnerable consumers.

The project provides free information sessions and follow up 1:1 support around saving money and keeping warm in winter.

Our specially trained advisers will run bespoke events for young people and families in East and West Lindsey from July 2017 until March 2018, specifically Save and Warm provides the following:

  1. Energy Saving Awareness
  • How to save money through understanding of energy use in the home e.g. appliance consumption
  • Comfortable heat settings
  • How heat is lost in the home
  • Inexpensive draught proofing measures
  1. Income Maximisation
  • Understanding energy tariffs and ways to pay
  • How to switch and confidence to do so
  • Awareness of government schemes such as Energy Company
  • Obligation and Warm Homes Discount
  • Energy Companies strategy when there is fuel debt
  • Benefit calculations
  1. Financial Capability
  • Household finances and budgeting
  • Looking at types of credit, their pros and cons
  • Debt, its consequences and advice about how to handle it
  • Development of communication skills around talking to family members, financial institutions and creditors
