Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) – SEPTEMBER AND NOVEMBER COURSES

ASIST

September 20 & 21 or November 29 & 30 2021

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to identify their unique reason to stay safe for now, and create a plan to support this. You don’t have to be a professional to attend, but everyone who works with adults facing difficulties in life should have this training.

£165 per place, includes workbook, wallet card and certificate.

The courses are suitable for anyone, including those working in health, social services, the voluntary sector, student support, pastoral care, housing, addictions, victim support, veterans support, youth work and social care. Many attend simply because having experienced loss to suicide, they want to be better equipped to recognise and deal with any future situation.

It is important that participants recognise that these trainings are not therapy, and the course content means that anyone with current thoughts of suicide, recent bereavement by suicide or who is struggling with mental health issues should consider whether this is the right time to attend, and should seek appropriate sources of support.

Delegates must be aged 16 years and over
